Canonbury Square

I see not feel
The striking beauty of this autumn
With the yellow leaves against
The globally warmed blue sky.
This is noted, yet felt
As nothing more than prettiness.

But there is more…
The sun seen through cloud from
A point in
The Square looking down
Two roads
Symbolises
The two ways, two emotional possibilities.
One is
Current limitation & gloom,
Shortness of life, the joining of the ancestors
Not too far ahead.
Yet know there is another
Direction,
That the same material may be received
& felt differently
That all remains open
And I am alive.
